Y'all Ready For This?

Cue the music,,,

I really hate moving. The purging of stuff, the packing, the total mess the house or other dwelling becomes during the process.

I moved in November, but by October I had pretty much trashed,,,in a good way, the house in Stokesdale. The living room was full of packing material.

As was the kitchen.

Even the master bedroom was a mess. I did not take a photo of the office or the guest room. That is where the bulk of the packed boxes went to live until moving day.

With the help of the BEST neighbor in the world and another neighbor the U-Haul truck got loaded. Thank you Randy Winn for all your hard work! The drive down was smooth and uneventful. My crew of friends all showed up to help me unload the U-Haul.

This is my kitchen once we were done unloading the truck.

My new living room.

And my new master bedroom.

But me, being the crazy person I am, I stayed up until 2 am that night to get some of the kitchen unpacked. I was very grateful that my new manager had refused to schedule me so I had a week to get unpacked and settled in. But now it is all unpacked, except for one or two boxes. All the art is up and only 2 curtains still need to be put up. Of course the weeds are starting to take off in the landscape beds and I need to buy some Round-Up and get rid of them.

My front porch. I want to wrap the rail in little white lights for the Christmas season but my only outside outlet is on the other side of the house on the screened-in deck. I am toying with running a couple of extension cords around the house.

My new master bedroom looking out from the master bath. My leasing agent told me my walk-in closet ran the entire length of the wall. He failed to state which wall. The closed door in the photo is my closet.

From the closet side of the master looking towards the bathroom area.

From the head of the bed towards the windows. What you don't see is the vanity which I am using as a computer desk. It is to the right of the chest of drawers.

My bathroom is wonderful. I love the skylight! There is another one in the kitchen near the sink and yet another one in the guest bath. When it rains you can really hear the rain on the skylights and the metal ceiling fan exhaust lids. Just like an old tin roof.

The view of the living room and dining room from the foyer area.

The living room and hall leading to the other 2 bedrooms and guest bath as seen from the kitchen.

The kitchen from the living room.

The dining room. I need to get all the chairs recovered but want to get thicker seats cut for the 4 original chairs first. Good thing I know a man with a saber saw.

And last but not least, my screened in deck. Not much privacy but a nice place to sit on cool mornings, afternoons or evenings.

Need to get the hose out of here and onto the hanger on the front porch, but first I have to hack my way to the hose hanger. Major over growth around the front porch. The hose hanger is on the back side of the front porch.

Considering I rented this place based on a few photos I am happy with it. The girls and I have settled in nicely. I like the new crew I work with and I am actively looking for a full time job with a law firm.
