Savannah's 2nd Birthday
WARNING: This post has lots of granddaughter photos in it.
For Savannah's second birthday I sent the girls to visit their "Aunt" Trudy for a couple of nights and headed to spend the weekend with my daughter, son in-law and most wonderful, beautiful granddaughter. By the end of the first night we had her saying "Hi Oma" and waving at me. Love the little munchkin to pieces.
She is constantly on the move. Loves her sunglasses and her purse. She's heading out to the screened in lanai.
Very intently watching, Ruby, their dog.
The morning of her birthday Patricia wanted to make something really yummy for Savannah. I talked her into us making a run to Cinotti's Bakery and picking up a dozen doughnuts. Cinotti's has been around since the 1930s and is still family owned and operated. They are the very best bakery in the Jacksonville area.
Now that we are all on a sugar rush we pile into the car and head off to a park. I don't remember the name of it, but its an impressive place.
I asked Savannah to say cheese so I could take her photo.
Savannah loved the slides at the park. This was the first one.
Here is a shot of the park taken from the 2 and under tot lot where we started out. The entire park was built from donations by volunteers and is incredible.
My lovely, pregnant daughter with her 'do you really have to take my photo' look.
Patricia and I convinced Justin that he needed to take Savannah down the enclosed, spiral slide. She loved it and we laughed as we heard Justin every time he hit the sides of the slide. He said they almost got stuck the second time going through it.
This archway marks one of the entrances to the park.
When I saw the slide with the bumps in it I knew Justin had to take Savannah down it. At least he wouldn't risk getting stuck. It took him a few minutes to navigate their way to the top of the slide.
Ready, set, go,,,
Somehow Justin forgot to put his feet down at the end and they landed on the ground.
After playing Savannah wanted to look at the ducks. There is a pond next to the park. We saw sleeping ducks floating near the shore.
Turtles who came up for air.
Turtles sunning themselves on the bank of the pond.
And one last duck.
Now its back to home for her nap and so Patricia and I can get the house ready for Savannah's party. I don't have any party photos. They haven't been sent to me,,,yet.
